You're better off by bike
21st April 2008
Sutton Council’s BUG (Bicycle Users’ Group) held an event in the staff car park recently aimed at the fun side of cycling.
Staff were able to try out various bikes and get some valuable information on simple cycle maintenance. With bike health checks, pool bike demonstrations, advice on cycle routes to work and free cycle maps, the event proved very popular.
Sandria Lewindon and Kathryn McLauchlan, Smarter Travel Sutton’s Workplace Travel Planners, demonstrated that a tandem bike is a fun and active way to get to meetings, but not for the feint hearted!
If you feel your staff would benefit from a Bicycle Users Group but are not sure how to set one up, or if you would you like to offer your staff adult cycle training (£5 per person, subsidised by Transport for London) contact 020 8770 5070 and ask for Cycle Training.
